The Top Five Cancer Causing Foods

How many of you can guess which foods you should strongly avoid, that are high risk for cancer?
We can identify cancer causing foods, once we know which ingredients in our food cause cancer. Some of those ingredients are food additives and chemicals which are used to enhance taste. There are others that are used strictly for appearance or to increase product shelf life. Avoid cancer causing foods whose ingredients are carcinogens. Which are the big time cancer promoters.
Cancer tumors develop, in most part, by feeding on sugar in our bloodstream. So, simple carbs, gives the cancer cells the energy that it needs to proliferate. So, your best strategies to pursue for any anti~cancer diet is to eat a low~glycemic diet.
NEVER Eat:
- Refined sugar
- Refined grains, such as white flour
- Use of sweeteners
- Avoid sugary soda pop.
Aside from starving tumors, eating foods low in sugar and avoiding simple carbs will also keep your weight in check while helping prevent blood sugar disorders such as type~2 diabetes.
Avoid Foods Containing:
- High~fructose corn syrup
- Sugar
- Sucrose
- Enriched bleached flour
- White rice
- White pastas
- White breads
- And other “white” foods
Other Catalists The Dreaded Hydrogenated Oils
Hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils are developed from otherwise harmless, natural elements…But when heated in the presence of hydrogen and metal catalysts (which prolongs shelf life), simultaneously creates trans fats. Trans Fats only have to be disclosed on food labels, if the food contains more than 0.5 grams per serving.
Now here is where the manufacturers get tricky…to avoid listing trans fats, or to claim “trans fat free” on their label, they simply adjust the serving size until the trans fat content falls under 0.5 grams per serving. This is how you get modern food labeling, with serving sizes that essentially equate to a single bite of food. So, read those labels! Good rule of thumb:If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Trans fats also promotes heart disease, interrupts metabolic processes, and causes belly fat. Belly fat crowds the organs and strains the heart. Basically they (trans fats) replace the good fat ( fatty acids), occupying the same space without doing the same job. And after the hydrogenation process, the fatty acid can’t biochemically function in the same way. What kind of things you ask?
Important Functions of Fatty Acids
- Brain cell function
- Hormones and gland function
- Oxygen transport
- Cell wall function (that’s what keeps things in or out of your cells)
- Digestive tract operation (putting together nutrients and blocking allergens) are really affected
So, you see these pesky trans fats and food manufacturers are really doing a harmful number on you.
Your body needs essential fatty acids and you are programmed to keep eating until you get them. This is why you are not satisfied eating only trans fats. You will never feel fully satisfied.
Since cancer needs high blood sugar and low oxygen levels, a person with lots of belly fat who just can’t seem to put down those trans fat cookies, french fried potatoes or crackers, makes the perfect host and ideal environment for the development of cancer.
The Aceylamides Factor
Since trans fats are often formed during the frying process, lets go over Acrylamides. Acrylamides are not added into food; they are created during the frying process. When starchy foods are subjected to high heat, acrylamides form. Studies show that acrylamides cause cancer in rats, and more studies are being compiled to confirm the understanding that acrylamides also cause cancer in humans.
Sodium Nitrite and Nitrates
Food companies add sodium nitrate into certain foods on purpose. This carcinogen is added to processed meats , hot dogs, bacon, and any other meat that needs a reddish color to look “fresh.” This chemical is responsible for the pinkish color in meat to which consumers have grown accustomed. Today the use of refrigeration is what protects consumers from botulism and bacteria. Manufacturers are still adding sodium nitrite to make the meat look pinkish and fresh. It is not needed.
The nitrites are not the problem. We get more nitrites from vegetables than we do from meat, according to research by the University of Minnesota. During the digestion process, however, sodium nitrite is converted to nitrosamine, and that’s where the cancer is introduced. Nitrosamine is a carcinogen, but since it is not technically an ingredient, its presence can be easily overlooked on the packaging. Once again…tricky food processors. Nitrosamines are also found in food items that are pickled, fried, or smoked. And as well in beer, cheese, fish byproducts, and tobacco smoke.
Knowing about all these ingredients doesn’t mean there is simply a “short list” of foods that should be avoided. You have to vigilant and read labels constantly.
Here Are The FIVE Worst Offenders:
1. Hot Dogs:
The American Cancer Prevention Coalition recommends that children should not eat more than 12 hot dogs per month because of the risk of cancer.
If you must serve hot dogs, look for those without sodium nitrite listed on the ingredients.
They are out there.
2. Processed Meats and Bacon:
Most contain sodium nitrite.
You can find some without nitrites, but you’ll have to look for them in natural grocers or health food stores.
Also, bacon is also high in saturated fat, which contributes to the risk of cancers.
This includes breast cancer, ladies.
Limiting your consumption of processed meats and saturated fats will only benefits your heart.
3. Doughnuts:
Doughnuts contain hydrogenated oils, white flour, sugar, and acrylamides.
Essentially, they’re one of the worst cancer foods you can possibly eat.
They are “the worst way” to start the day.
4. French Fries:
Fries are made with hydrogenated oil and fried at high temperatures.
Some Fast Foods Chains even add sugar to their fry recipe to make them even more irresistible. Not only do they clog your arteries with saturated fat and trans fat, they also contain acrylamides. Let’s call them “cancer fries,” not French Fries.
5. Chips~Crackers~Cookies:
Once again, most contain white flour and sugar as well as trans fats, but it’s simply not enough to simply look for these ingredients on the label; you have to actually “decode” the ingredients list that food manufacturers use to deceive consumers.
They do this by hiding ingredients (such as hiding MSG in yeast extract, or by fiddling with serving sizes so they can claim the food is trans fat free, even when it contains trans fats.
Get this Baby Boomers…Even the Girl Scouts use this trick with their new cookies. Shame on them…
Besides Avoiding These Foods, What Else Can Consumers Do To Reduce The Risk of Cancer?
The Main Things Are Easy Enough:
- Eat unprocessed foods
- Base your diet largely on plants, especaily green ones
- Eat foods that have omega~3 fats and other essential fatty acids
- Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, many have known cancer fighting properties
- Get regular vigorous exercise, tumors cannot thrive in highly oxygenated environment
- Keep your blood sugar stable
Here are some quick DO’s and DON’Ts
- Eat foods high in natural vitamin C, it promotes a health immune system
- Get adacuate amounts vitamin D, exposure to sunlight, about 10 to 15 minutes each day if fair skinned, or 10X as long if you have dark skin pigmentation
- Stay well hydrated to ensure that your body rids itself of harmful toxins
- Avoid smoking
- Don’t use conventional fragrance, cosmetics and personal care products, almost all of them contain cancer causing chemicals
The World Health Organization or WHO, says that 70 percent of cancers can be prevented with simple changes in your diet and lifestyle. People give themselves cancer through the foods, drinks and other food products they consume. It is estimated that over 90 percent of cancers can easily be preventable.

Living this way is a life changing event. You will feel better, have more energy, look great and have this wonderful self righteous attitude…I have been doing this for more than 25 years…before that I ate a little too much fat…Plan those splurges and they should only occur when planned. Once a week is okay..After a while you won’t even want that. I do have my weaknesses…steak, lox, sourdough bread… So once a month….And I am still the same size I was in highschool…
anyway of posting your research documents or at least some references . to proves all this nice article is not useless crap ?
Hello Jonathan,
Thank you for visiting BBAC and leaving a comment.
All you have to do is type in “5 top cancer causing foods” on Google and there is a wealth of information.
Since I have an auto immune disease I am constantly searching to see what to avoid and what to take. I have had cancer 3 times. Plus 5 stokes. So, I am always on the look out as to how to live healthier.
I get a lot of my information from Mayo Clinic. There rest comes from all over the web. Most of my day is spent researching.
The other 1/3 is spent typing as I “can not type or spell.” Every article and every reply to one of our readers, is an act of love and with the hope that I can help someone. That is why you see so much health on my blog. Anyone can write about what is going on in the world. But who does that help? Writing about health just might help someone and that the goal of BBAC.
There is nothing on my list that good common sense would not tell you, “you shouldn’t be eating them.” The issue usually is whaaaaaaaaaaaa, why should I stop, I love these foods and have been eating them all of my life and I ain’t dead yet.
Is there something on the list of foods that you shouldn’t be eating ,that you have an issue with? I would be to assist you. But the list is pretty basic and ANY doctor will tell you that the list is a good list to live by.
The food industry is killing Americans. We let them by continuing to buy their processed foods…if there is any “crap as you called it…it is in the foods that are on that list. Not in what I wrote.
You and I could go into any store and prove my point in just picking up 10 random items and reading to you what they have in them.
Jonathan, I dearly love Kristy Kreme Do-nuts, but I might as well be main lining grease and poison into my veins. I couldn’t tell you the last time I have eaten one. The last time someone brought me one…and it did not taste that good. Because now, I know what “crap” they are. Wasted calories.
We hope to see you soon and hear from you often.
Southern smiles and world peace,
Sharon
