Scientists Claim…Watermelon yields Viagra-Like Effects
Fourth of July isn’t Fourth of July without watermelon! I like mine icy cold!
But Baby Boomers, perhaps you had better look at watermelon in a different light. Researchers say watermelon has sexual effects similar to Viagra, which means it could be a new natural cure for impotence, but don’t necessarily expect it to keep the fireworks all night long.
Watermelon Contains A Natural Ingredient That Could Mimic Viagra
Watermelons contain a natural ingredient called citrulline that can trigger production of a compound that helps relax the body’s blood vessels, similar to what happens when a man takes Viagra.
Found in the flesh and rind of watermelons, citrulline reacts with the body’s enzymes when consumed in large quantities and is changed into arginine, an amino acid that benefits the heart and the circulatory and immune systems. Plus, it helps to increase blood flow to that important male part of the body.
I am going to post my famous Watermelon Sorbet AND Watermelon Rind recipe. Who would have thought that watermelon was a natural cure for impotence! Look in my recipe category for those recipes.
What Creates the Viagra Effect in Watermelon?
Arginine boosts nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels, the same basic effect that Viagra has, to potentially help erectile dysfunction.
Watermelon may not be as organ specific as Viagra, but it’s a great way to relax vessels without any drug side effects. And face it men, there are some horrible effects with Viagra! You can literally die from Viagra!
However, do not expect the exact same result from watermelon that you get from Viagra., however, having a natural cure for impotence would make lots of men happy. Your friendly watermelon also has nitric oxide which can also help with angina, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular problems, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
More citrulline, about 60 percent, is found in watermelon rind than in the flesh, but that can vary. Citrulline is found in all colors of watermelon and is highest in the yellow fleshed types. One would need to eat about six cups of watermelon to get enough citrulline to boost the body’s arginine level.
Watermelon is also diuretic and was a homeopathic treatment for kidney patients before dialysis became widespread. But remember that watermelon is high in sugar and can rush into your bloodstream, for those of you who are diabetic, and such a jolt could cause cramping.
Choose Safe & Natural Impotence Remedies-No Drugs
Now, as many know I am against pharmaceuticals and prefer the natural options for health. So, lets say you are not a watermelon person, like I am…plus there is the winter months which makes watermelon had to find, what are your options?
