It Is Always Martini Time-What Is Your FAVORITE Shaken & Not Stirred MARTINI

Baby Boomer Queen’s~Dry Shark Eye Martini Recipe

Some might think this is your classic martini recipe, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder . It is the Shark Eye that makes the drink so “eye” catching ( I can’t seem to stay away from puns today!).

Always remember…the James Bond Martini…shaken not stirred.

Gather all Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cracked ice
  • 4 jiggers gin or vodka…I prefer Bombay’s Blue Sapphire Gin
  • 1 tsp. dry martini vermouth
  • 2 washed and dried cherry or grape tomatoes OR you can substitute 2 black or green olives…I prefer the tomatoes. Pat dry which ever you choose.
  • One small washed and patted dried zuchinni squash or cucumber
  • 2 pinches of sea salt
  • 2 skewers

Instructions

  • Over cracked ice in cocktail shaker, pour gin or vodka and vermouth.
  • Strain mixture into 2 chilled martini glasses.
  • Cut two pieces of squash or cucumber, stick each one onto a skewer.
  • Next skewer on, the tomatoes (they are your shark eyes)
  • Sprinkle with sea salt if you are not on a salt free diet
  • Add one shark eye to each martini
  • Serve with a smile and for an added effect…play the theme to “Jaws” when served.

Serves: Two

Options: You can make these “Bloody Shark’s Eye Martini’s by adding your Shark’s Eye’s to your  pomegranate martini or raspberry martini.

Why is it that no one calls drinks “cocktails” any more?  I yearn for a more romantic time…think I will fix a “Shark’s Eye Martini.”

Here’s looking at you kid…
