Has Chlorine Affected Michael Phelps In Choosing McDonalds and Kelloggs

Has The Pool Chlorine Affected Michael Phelps In Choosing NON-Nutritional McDonald’s and Kellogg’s?

When you bring home eight gold medals in a single Olympic season, you can pretty much choose who you want to sponsor. Olympian swimmer for the United States, Michael Phelps is already cashing in on his celebrity status with deals worth millions of dollars. He was the U.S. hopeful before he even left for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, having won 6 Gold Medals in Athens 2004 Olympics and exceeding any other Olympian athlete in the history of the Olympics, doesn’t hurt.
Marketability fades quickly for Olympic Super Stars, when other sports seasons start. I do not feel that Michael Phelps will be in that category. Already he has many sponsors giving him millions to sign up.
- The Omega watch store in Beijing, China
- Speedo
- Paycheque from Visa
- Power Bar
- AT&T
- McDonald’s will be delivering more than just a double cheeseburger, fries and a coke to him…
- Kellogg’s
Phelps Mania has hit the fans and Phelps’ rise to riches will be easy. His choices of sponsors already show that. Choosing McDonald’s and Kellogg’s for sponsors has gotten him immediate heat from the Nutritional World. Does he owe his fans and the children who look up to him the responsibility of choosing healthy sponsors?
Should he be using his celebrity status to push sugary, processed foods onto a generation of children who already suffer from unprecedented rates of obesity, tooth decay and diabetes. Processed sugar promotes diseases and causes nutritional deficiencies at the same time.
All of Michael Phelps endorsements have not been revealed, and million dollar estimates are off the map. He has made more money all around for TV, the Olympics, and many more. He is a winner…you can not take that away from him. HOWEVER…should he rethink his choices on McDonald’s and Kellogg’s? That is this Baby Boomers question…
I will not even go into what McDonald’s menu delivers to the unsuspecting public with fats, trans fats, possible cloned beef that is already in the market and sells one of the top 5 cancer promoting foods, French Fries. OR the fact that the Chicken McNuggets (mostly sold to children) and lighter fluid have an ingredient in common! Enough said about poisons…
Looking at the clip above, and you can see Phelps’ extreme super star power, marketability and the influence he can have over children world wide. What a shame he has chosen a path that is not healthy and nutritional.

The human body is a very sophisticated machine and you have to feed it the right things for it to run smoothly. The fast food restaurants in America and cereal companies do not care about your health. We should all know that by now. Eat smarter-lose more weight.
