Happy Stories Sumatran Tiger Triplets

June 9, 2008

Baby Booomers, if you love cats or not, this video will bring a smile to your face.

The Sumatran tiger triplets were born at the Dreamworld theme park on Australia’s Gold Coast. And I must say these baby cubs are truly a dream come true for the animal kingdom.

A rare Sumatran tiger in Australia gives birth to three cubs. Only about 400 such tigers remain in the wild and only about 200 in our Zoos. Zoos are the genetic warehouse for animals who are on the verge of extinction!

The tigress is 6 years old, has 2~14 month tigers and believe her to be able to produce more cubs soon.

Now let’s see if the tigress is a cat, then would she be 54 years young? That would make her a Baby Boomer, Would it not???

When I think of Australia, Sumatran Tigers do not come into mind. But that has changed after today.

Due to the clearing of forests and land, these are the most endangered species of tigers on earth. Those are man made problems…and yes I am a bleeding heart animalist (is there such a word, she smiles).
