Corruption Conviction of Sen. Stevens Enhances Democrats’ Prospects in Alaska
Republican Ted Stevens of Alaska has been found guilty on all SEVEN charges in his federal corruption trial, certainly crushes any chance that the long time Alaska Republican Senator had at winning re~election in eight days time.
Well, Baby Boomers, Senator Stevens did ask for a fast and speedy trail so he could prove his innocence…
Could it be worse timing for Senator Steven to have his conviction to be announced, 8 days before he faces Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich in a race long targeted by national Democrats as a tremendous take over opportunity?
Even though a guilty verdict happened so close to the election, Senator Steven will still have his name on the ballot even if he resigns his seat because of the conviction.The Republicans are stuck with him.
Of course, The Alaska Democratic Party has immediately called for Senator Steven to resign. Stating that, “Alaskans deserve better from their public officials.”
Republican Senator Ted Stevens still says that he is innocent and that all he did was pay the bills as they came in, not noticing that there where such a large amount of FREE work done.
Alaskan corruption how far up does it go???
