997 Reasons to Choose Wordpress.com Over Blogger.com

Seriously, there are 997 reasons but I’m just going to give you mine.

There are many people out there in cyber-world on both sides of the fence when it comes to blog platforms and which one is truly the best. But, we are going to keep this discussion, for the most part, to Blogger.com versus Wordpress.com.

Let’s just get it out there from the beginning that Wordpress is better. Yes, that’s a personal opinion but that’s why I wrote this article.

I’m going to skip the techo-talk when it comes to formal comparisons between the two giants in the blog world and stick to general observations. There are some that will tell you that it is not good to follow the crowd. Be different they tell you. Well, these are the some folks that claim that listening to albums is far superior to playing a cd. I don’t think so.

Now, if you want to be nostalgic and play albums to give you flashbacks of the good old days, there is nothing wrong with that. But, if you are going to tell me that the sound is better and that you can hear more instruments by listening to them, then I’m going to have to disagree with that logic.

Here’s my philosophy when it comes to Blogger’s battle against Wordpress. Bloggerers are hanging on to the past as Wordpressists surge into the future. They will tell you that Blogger gets indexed faster because it is now owned by Google and that’s why they stay with them. Really? Prove it.

They will also tell you that Blogger is superior because once again it is owned by Google and you can instantly monetize your blog with google adsense and make money. Really? Prove it–the make money part.

Even if you are not one of those people that tends to follow the crowd, sometimes you have to take a look at fast moving trends and literally force yourself to follow the crowd. This is especially true if you are a blog owner who is attempting to generate income online. The crowd says Wordpress.

Blogger versus Wordpress is like a Ford Escort against a Cadillac. Yes, they both can eventually get you from point A to point B but one is so much sweeter.

While I’m thinking about it, that brings to mind Internet Explorer versus Firefox but I think I will save that one for a different time. And speaking of time, you are behind the times if you are using Blogger.

Please don’t take anything in this article too serious. Remember, it’s simply a personal opinion and an off the cuff comparison between two online options, but please admit it…Wordpress is King.
