WWE’s Original ‘Doink The Clown’ Matt Osborne Found Dead
In Plano, Texas, 1990′s WWE’s Original ‘Doink The Clown’ and former wrestler Matt Osborne, best known for being the twisted Doink the Clown character, died Friday, June 28th, 2013, at an area hospital.
Osborne, age 55, was found unresponsive by his girlfriend inside their apartment. His death is believed to be accidental. However, a homicide investigation is still underway.
Before he became Doink the Clown, he wrestled on the inaugural WrestleMania card against Ricky Steamboat in 1985 at Madison Square Garden. He then went on to compete in World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW), in the World Championship Wrestling (WCW)—before he returned to the WWE in 1992, as the adorable and creepy clown prankster. During his career, he also wrestled briefly for Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).
