New Jersey Officers Rescue A Man From A Car Completely Engulfed In Flames, going well beyond the line of duty.  These Barnegat police officers need awards of valor.

This 90 second video shows Officers Lauren Keilitz and Michael Diblasi sprint toward the 2005 BMW 745 as flames engulfed the car in the driveway of a home in Barnegat, NJ, on the night of January 30th, 2012.

The officers quickly assess the situation. Officer Lauren Keilitz opens the rear passenger door and sees a man (Mario Dischiavi, age 57) incapacitated in the drivers seat.

Office Keilitz then runs to the drivers door,  and the officer was then able to open the driver’s door and despite horrendous heat and flames — dragged Mario Dischiavi, who is not a small man, to safety, saving his life.

Dischiavi was treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under still investigation.

Now these officers are True Heros in everyway because they could have truely died but thought nothing about it and saved this man and you just don’t find these kind of people in general that are willing to do so.

To me it sounds like this might be a sucide attempt because he wanted to stay in the car but that is the way it sounds to me.

When I hear a football player is a hero I get sick to my stomach because all they do is play a game and get a lot of money for doing so and that makes no sense to me at all.

These officers are heros because they do a job that nobody really wants to do and don’t think twice putting their lives on the line for all of us.

    • Yes, they are definitely hero’s!
Perhaps the man was cover come by smoke or even carbon-monoxide poisoning. He could have been there sitting in his car and became overcome with fumes. Who knows they are still investigating the incident.

Maybe he was drunk? I certainly do not know. It could have been a number of things.
