TV sitcom icon ‘All In The Family’ Director John Rich Dead At Age 86. He died Sunday morning in his Los Angeles, CA., home after a brief illness. No other details were released at this time.

John Rich was a two time Emmy Award winner for the memorable “All in the Family.” He is noted for the very funny scene showing Sammy Davis Jr. planting a big fat kiss on Archie Bunker.

Richs’ other Emmy was for “The Dick Van Dyke Show.”

His Hollywood career lasted 50-years. His TV sitcom hits included:

Back in the 1980s John Rich and Henry Winkle (the Fonz) formed a production company called Henry Winkler/John Rich Productions and together they produced the top hit show, “MacGyver” for Paramount Television.

His feature film credits include:

* “Roustabout” (with Elvis Presley)
* “Easy Come, Easy Go”(with Elvis Presley)
* “Wives and Lovers”
