Should Genetically Modified Food Labeling Be Required
Did you know that the food you eat hides details? Should genetically modified food labeling be required by the FDA? As they used to say on ‘Laugh In’ — “You Bet Your Sweet Bippy!”
You would be surprised how many people are food illiterate. They simply do not know what they are eating and they take for granted what the labels say as “truth.” Nothing could be further from the truth.
Always check the labels on the food that you buy — but not everything that you need to know is on the labels. America does not require labeling for genetically engineered foods, even though many countries around the world, all of Europe, China and Japan do do already.
Get this Baby Boomers, some of the genetically engineered ingredients (food) are designed to produce an insecticide and also be able to withstand increased levels of weed killer.
As we are aware, the jury is still out on the safety of these ingredients. But every person on the plant has the right to know what we are eating and feeding our families.
BBAC is asking that you join the Just Label It Campaign. Please take a moment of your time to watch the video by Food, Inc. director Robby Kenner and then sign EWG’s petition to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) DEMANDING that genetically engineered foods be labeled.
They need 65,000 petition signatures, so watch the video and sign the EWG Petition. Make a difference and help them make their goal of 65,000 petition signatures.
Parents in other countries can make informed choices when it comes to feeding their children and themselves. I hope you’ll join BBAC so that Americans will also have the right to know what’s in our food.
The FDA needs to quit sleeping with companies that generically alter food and do their job of protected the American public.
