Blues Singer Etta James Dies At Age 73
Music icon and three time Grammy winner, Blues Singer Etta James Dies At Age 73, from Leukemia complications.
She was a music icon, winning six Grammys, and 17 Blues Music Awards. Etta James was a voice that many Baby Boomers will remember through the rest of their lives.
She sang like an angel, but was known as a hell-raiser who had tempestuous relationships with her family, men, and with the music industry. She was a high note that could not be reached by many.
Later in her life, she spent years battling a drug addiction that she admitted sapped away at her great talents.
Etta James died on Friday, January 20th, 2012, at the Riverside Community Hospital from complications of leukemia. At her sides were her husband and sons.
According to her manager, “It’s a tremendous loss for her fans around the world. She’ll be missed. A great American singer. Her music defied category.”

She will never ever be forgotten because of her voice and now she is resting in peace where she wanted to be for years because if you really hear her singing she was suffering on the inside and that is the worse way to live your life.
She was torn between so many ways and she showed it in more than one way just by her drug usage and drinking and why would she wear those wigs it was as though she wanted to white but couldn’t be white not that I am saying she didn’t want to be black but she was torn,
She was a great singer…
