The Ship Captain Francesco Schettino Of The Costa Concordia Is Under House Arrest Until The Investigation Is Complete about his role in last weeks shipping disaster.
Transcripts were published to the public on Tuesday that gave the dramatic conversations between port officials and Captain Francesco Schettino. Eight times the Coast Guard told the Captain to go back to his ship and evacuate his passengers and crew. He did not go.
An Italian judge ruled that the Captain of the Costa Concordia, that went aground, must remain in custody pending a later decision on whether to release him while authorities probe incident.
Captain Schettino’s attorney stated that, “the decision was based on Schettino’s promised cooperation and law that allows the suspect to remain under house arrest pending a final decision on custody.”
Rest assured that the cruise line owners, Costa Cruises, a subsidiary of British-American Carnival Corporation & Plc., are going to make an escape goat out of Captain Francesco Schettino.
