But many feel that the Denver Broncos quarterback delivered that Biblical message to the football masses Sunday during their overtime victory against the powerful Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tim Tebow-John 3:16 Significance
The final score was 29-23-but the game was significant for other reasons. Tebow passed for 316 yards against the Steelers, and set an NFL playoff record with 31.6 yards per completion.
Many Christians fell that John 3:16, is arguably the single most important verse in the Bible. It reads, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Tim Tebow made John 3:16 was the most Googled search term for much of Sunday evening and way into Monday morning, as sports fans looked up the coincidences.
Tebow was too busy on the playing field to make a connection between his game stats and the Bible verse that he used to paint in white on top of his eye black paint. That was until the National Football League barred all such personal messages on the field.
Still praising the Lord, as Tim Tebow has done most of his career, which has made him plenty of fans and critics, he stated to the media after the game, “First and foremost I just want to thank my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. He’s done so much in my life.”
Though he is not allowed paint John 3:16 on his game face, Tim Tebow still keeps it real, using it to sign off in a message to fans on his website, TimTebow.com.

I don’t get why can’t he do what he has done for years it is not hurting anyone if it helps him that is all that counts because it is so beautiful and so true that is simply not fair.
I am so glad that he and his team won because it just shows the world how GOD is so important to all of us and he is omni present and that is all that counts.
Carol,
The topic of religion has become a touch and go subject. Since not every one believes the same–they now have to omit all religion. So, to be politically correct, none is allowed.
