Has Moammar Gadhafi Been Captured In Libya, or is it only an Internet rumor? Though there are all kinds of reports coming in from Libyan television, Gadhafi’s capture could not be independently verified.
Earlier today, the National Transitional Council fighters stated that they had taken control of Sirte. Which the council has been waiting for Sirte to fall to declare liberation of Libya from the tyranny of Moammar Gadhafi’s rule of over 42 years.
In Tripoli, celebrations have started with horns blaring and celebratory gunfire burst into the air.
“It’s a great victory for the Libyan people,” stated Libyan Information Minister Mahmoud Shammam.
King Gadhafi came into power in a bloodless coup against King Idris in 1969, when he was only an army captain.
