Joel “Taz” DiGregorio keyboardist for Charlie Daniels Band Is Dead and Southern rockers and rock and roll fans everywhere will miss him.
DiGregorio was an original member of the band and was for over 40 years. He is well known for co-writing “The Devil Went Down To Georgia“
The “Taz,” age 67, died Wednesday night. October 12th, 2011 from injuries he suffered in a single car wreck in Cheatham County, Tennessee.
DiGregorio was on his way to meet the band’s tour bus when his car crashed near Nashville. Details about the wreck are not immediately available.
Because of Joel “Taz” DiGregorio‘s untimely death, the band canceled a Thursday night concert in Georgia and a show Saturday night in Connecticut.
Charlie Daniels is quoted as saying, “We traveled many miles together and shared so many nights on the road. We’re going to miss you buddy. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten.”
