Fall Vegetables That Make You Younger and Repair Damage To DNA

Three Fabulous Fall Vegetables That Make you Younger…
It’s that time of year when the leaves turn yellow-orange-red, along with the FALL VEGETABLES, that can make you young.
Pumpkins, sweet potatoes and winter squash are not only appealing to the eye and great tasting, but they are full of carotenoids. Why care about carotenoids? Carotenoids are wonderful nutrients that fight the DNA damage that can make you ill or even old before your time…that is why!
Here is how DNA damage works…during your lifetime, whether you are a beach bum, surfer dude or one of the top women dress designers of the world…your DNA accumulates damage. It also copies that damage, making new cells. It is like when you make copy on a Xerox machine. Little flaws and imperfections start to show up, even if everything started out perfect.
Same thing can happen with your DNA. It starts to pick up the flaws.

You might not think that is such a big thing, but what if I told you that this can lead to that ultimate cell replication error, CANCER…A word that most people find it hard to even say. CANCER.
Researchers are now finding that carotenoids, which is the plant pigments that also give pumpkins and cantaloupes their rich orange hues, may help protect against the kind of DNA damage that happens with age. That means that you will be able to keep making clear, good copies of your cells longer.
So, here we have the seasons’ vegetables, which will be less expensive since they are the fresh product, not a product that has to be shipped in from another state or country. Picked when it is ripe, so that it will have more nutrients, bursting full of flavor. It’s one more way to take good care of your taste buds with the season’s peak produce and also take better care of your body.

I love this time of year for this very reason! Especially pumpkin pie, the real thing not from a can. Acorn squash, apple cobbler, and of course the healthy veggies too. I’m glad to know they have cancer killing properties, thanks for sharing!
