Forty Seven years ago, many Baby Boomers remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Speech “I Have A Dream.” It is still a speech that we remember and one that still rings true for today.They are words that none of us will forget.

August 28th, 2010 Is A Day To Remember Civil Rights and Martin Luther King Jr., at the Lincoln Memorial. It is a day for Civil Right activists and every day Americans to remember the struggle that many have had in America.

Today, once again, civil rights marchers and held a rally. Today’s rally was “Reclaim the Dream” rally at Dunbar High School in northwestern Washington and the rally then proceeded to the planned Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., memorial site.

Their normal site for the event was taken over by conservatives, whose rally was called the Regaining Honor Rally. Their agenda was about honoring troops, taking back America and putting God back into the country.

It was held by Glenn Beck and officiated by Sarah Palin, hosted by the Soldiers Of Wounded Warriors and partially funded by the “Tea Party.”

Rev. Al Sharpton spearheaded the “Reclaim the Dream” rally and many great speakers covered the virtues and visions that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood for.

Glenn Beck, is a talk host program on Fox News, as well as several radio programs, was criticized for holding his rally on the anniversary and at the actual site of Dr. King’s speech.

Was Glenn Beck insensitive, Yes. Is he an egg head, yes. Will anyone remember the words of Glenn Beck, as they did Dr. King Jr.? Probably not.

Rev. Al Sharpton stated, “They may have the mall…but we have the message. They may have the platform…but we have the dream.”

    The moment I heard that he had been murdered is forever frozen in my memory. Pain, anger, sadness – and a terrible loss washed over me.

    How fortunate we were to have had him – even if it was for way too short a time.
