The U.S. Justice Department Sues Arizona and seeks an injunction over the Arizona Immigration law.
The Feds are suing to block Arizona’s immigration law. It is going to be a big clash between the federal government and state of Arizona over the nation’s toughest immigration crackdown.
In A Nut Shell:The Justice Department filed suit Tuesday, July 6th, 2010, against the state of Arizona on grounds that the state’s new immigration law illegally intrudes on federal prerogatives and is seeking a preliminary injunction to stop the legislation from taking effect.
President Obama has warned that the law could violate citizens’ civil rights, and Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. has expressed concern (warned) that it could drive a wedge between police and immigrant communities.
All warnings have fallen on deaf ears. Will there be another civil war?
