The Golden Girls Rue McClanahan Dies From A Cerebral Hemorrhage

Rue McClanahan Dies From A Cerebral Hemorrhage, caused from a stroke, at the age of 76, in New York.
Rue McClanahan, better know by Baby Boomers as the Southern belle, Blanche Devereaux, on the TV show The Golden Girls, has died, June 4th, 2010. The Golden Girls hit ran from 1985 through 1992. In which McClanahan won an Emmy for best lead actress in a comedy in 1987.
It was our version of “Sex In The City,” and we all adored it.
Rue McClanahan career began on the New York stage in the 1950s, but her long television career hit the mark when producer Norman Lear cast Rue in his hit CBS series, “All in the Family” in 1971. She then appeared in Lear’s “Maude” a year later. Though to me, her most memorable TV role was as Southern belle Blanche Devereaux on “The Golden Girls,” which ran from 1985 to 1992.
Out of four main stars, Betty White is now the sole surviving cast member of “The Golden Girls” stars.
