Rest and Sleep For Longevity because every creature needs to rest, well except for whales, they are never really unconscious when they sleep. Monkeys, hippos, elephants, dogs, cats, frogs, birds, koala bears, plus people, big and small…they all sleep. Just like eating and drinking, sleep is necessary for our survival.
Why Do We Need To Sleep
Sleep gives your body a rest, which allows it to prepare for the next day. It’s like giving your body a little vacation or a night spa. Sleep will also gives your brain a chance to sort things out. Things that you can not work out during the day time.
Rest and Sleep For Longevity, even though researchers are not exactly sure what kinds of organizing your brain takes care of while you sleep, but researchers surmise that sleep may be the time when the brain takes the time to filter and store information, replaces chemicals, thinks about issues and might even solves problems.
How Much Sleep Do We Need
The amount of sleep a person needs depends a lot on their age. When we are babies we sleep a lot, about 14 to 15 hours a day. But, as we mature, we only need about 7 or 8 hours of sleep each night. Most children between the ages of 5 to 12 years, are somewhere in between those hours. There fore, needing 10 to 11 hours of sleep. Of course, there are children that need more and less rest and sleep.
As most of you know, losing only one nights sleep will make you cranky, unable to think clear and clumsy.
Two nights of sleep loss and a Baby Boomer could have problems thinking and doing things; there brain and body can’t do their normal tasks as fast or as well.
Five nights of sleep loss and a person will hallucinate. Until eventually, it becomes virtually impossible for the brain to give directions to the rest of the body.
Bottom line…The brain needs to spend time in bed and catch some Rest and Sleep For Longevity.
Remember though that pharmaceutical sleep aides are addicting but there are all natural sleep products on the market.
