The Newest World’s Tallest Dog On Earth-George The Great Dane. That is right Baby Boomers, there is a new dog on the porch and he is George. George is a Great Dane and his human being David Nasser, from Tusan Arizona.

The last standing record holder for the Guinness Book of World Records “World’s Tallest Dog,” was Gibson, a Great Dane in California. Gibson passed away from bone cancer.

Ever since Gibson passed away, David Nasser has been trying to get his dog George, recognized as the World’s Tallest Dog.

In November of 2009, another California Great Dane named Titan was given the title “World’s Tallest Dog,” as Gibson’s successor, after a dog named Nasser apparently was unable to qualify due to problems with measurement and paperwork. Nasser and a team of George’s fans have since waged a publicity campaign, “The Newest World’s Tallest Dog On Earth-George The Great Dane.”

Finally, the Guinness organization announced that they have named The Newest World’s Tallest Dog On Earth-George The Great Dane and also gave him the title of Tallest Dog Ever. Guinness officials certified George at 43 inches tall, beating out Titan’s officially recorded height of 42.25 inches. What a dog!

Perhaps you say Giant George and his owner when they made an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show on February 22nd, 2010.

Giant George has his own website, GiantGeorge.com. According to the site, George was born on November 17, 2005, weighs about 245 lbs., and sleeps by himself on a big old queen sized bed. His human being, Nasser got George when he was only a 7 week old puppy.
