Credit Card Companies Defend Credit Card Swiping Fees and they do it with a straight face…and you thought politicians are bad…believe me, Baby Boomers they have nothing on the credit card companies…or should I call them the banks?
OK…so here it goes…now that the banking industry has gone plastic and few people even carry cash any more…the credit card companies are charging you the consumer to use that card and are now charging your merchant as well. I guess that you can call that burning the candle at both ends. But, the credit card companies will profit and prevail.
Having had a business, I am no stranger to these charges. Not only do they charge you for the machine to swipe on, all paper that is used, the actual statements with some companies, and a yearly fee…they are now charging the merchants for accepting that charge.
Bottom line…there is no such thing as free credit.
