Haiti Earthquake Updates:4.4 Aftershock Hits Haiti at 7:54 A.M., about 15 miles north-northwest of Port-au-Prince. The depth was about 6 miles. Around the same, as the ones before.
Earthquake devastated Haiti is having a very difficult time getting relief articles such as water, food medical aide and baby food to those who need it. There seems to be no organized system for distribution.
Large quantities of medications, baby formula and other earthquake relief supplies are sitting on the tarmac and in warehouses at the Port-au-Prince airport, but no one is moving it out.
Haiti Earthquake Updates:4.4 Aftershock Hits Haiti and that is not the only problem. Yesterday, a man was shot and killed by Haiti police, when some bags of rice fell off a relief truck and people scrambled for the food.
Bottlenecks in Haiti relief efforts continue Friday, to improve the flow of relief supplies at the south pier in Port-au-Prince. One of the main reasons there is a bottle neck in the earthquake relief, is that the earthquake on the 12th of January quake, damaged the capital’s north and piers.
Haitian people are living in the streets and ruble is everywhere. People are still being rescued from the cities.
Transport is made difficult as Haitian authorities and the U.S. military had only been able to restored one way traffic to the south pier, the smaller of the two, on Thursday. Port-au-Prince’s north pier remains unusable.
