Security Concerns Cause Medical Teams To Leave Haiti Hospitals

Security Concerns Cause Medical Teams To Leave Haiti Hospitals and their quake victims after the UN told them to leave.
I do not understand the UN…why didn’t they have more security come in, instead of pulling the doctors and nurses out?
This left critically wounded Haiti earthquake victims alone when Friday night the United Nations officials ordered a medical team to evacuate the area out of security concerns.
Security Concerns Cause Medical Teams To Leave Haiti Hospitals but on Saturday morning, the U.N. allowed the medical teams to return back to the makeshift tent hospitals.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN’s chief medical correspondent, was the only doctor left Friday night with 25 of Haiti’s earthquake victims. Some of whom were critically ill and wounded and even amputees.
Dr. Gupta assessed their needs, monitored patients’ vital signs, administered pain killers and continued intravenous drips. He stabilized three new patients in critical condition. However, with no supplies, he stated there was little he could do to treat them.

Personally, I give Dr Gupta a big thumbs up for staying and for those who left…well, you went there in a disaster zone to help…you weren’t much good…not helping. You could have told the UN to take a flying leap!
