Bacteria Can Make You Fat-Fat Bacteria

Bacteria Can Make You Fat-Fat Bacteria has been linked to weight gain and poor health.

Even though it is one thing at many over weight people do not take into consideration…”there is one thing you MUST do to burn fat effortlessly and improve your health in every measurable way, and that is to LIMIT THE SUGAR-GRAINS AND HIGH GLYCEMIC CARBOHYDRATES, in your diet.

Why Limit HIGH GLYCEMIC’s

A high glycemic diet actually stimulates the production of insulin, which is the “fat storage hormone.” Chronically high insulin levels make fat burning virtually impossible for even the skinniest Baby Boomer. A high glycemic diet is also the cornerstone of the degenerative disease, diabetes.

Cutting the carbs and lowereing that high-glycemic diet can alter the bacteria in your intestines. This can make it easier NOT to gain weight and easier to lose weight.  The bast part of the equation is that the transition can happen in as little as 24 hours.

Jeffrey Gordon, MD at the Washington University, is one of the foremost experts on intestinal bacteria. His recent study, clearly showed the relationship between sugar intake, the balance of intestinal flora and weight loss.

Ninety percent of the microbes in your lower digestive tract, fall into two major classes, or phyla. They are:

* Firmicutes…this strain of bacteria is dominant in those who are obese
* Bacteroidetes…this strain of bacteria are dominant in those who are thin

How Did Dr. Jeffery Gordon Prove This?

Dr. Gordon and his colleagues began with a group of mice raised in a sterile environment. None of the mice had no intestinal bacteria.

In half of the mice, he implanted bacteria dominated by firmicutes, from obese mice. In the other half, he implanted bacteria dominated by bacteroidetes. These came from lean mice.

All of of mice ate the same diet. The research showed that the mice with the bacteria from obese mice became obese. The mice with the bacteria from lean mice stayed lean.

The study then was tested on humans and same results were achieved when as with the mice, confirming the hypothesis.

Then What Happened?

Dr. Gordon then showed that when the mice with a dominant number of “lean bacteria” were switched to a high-sugar diet. The “obese bacteria” rapidly asserted dominance. When they began to out-compete and out-proliferate the friendly bacteria. And this took place within just 24 hours.

There is a common saying that “you are what you eat.” This is absolutely true. Friendly intestinal flora are vital to your immune system and good health. They help assimilate nutrients from your diet. Not only that, but they help to get rid of toxins and waste and can play a big huge benefit in maintaining your optimal weight.

So Baby Boomers, here is the bottom line, from the research. The healthy bacteria in your lower intestines thrive on fiber. The bad bacterias thrive on sugar. So…feed your body lots of organic vegetables and colorful plant foods. It will starve the bad guys by avoiding sugar, grains and high-glycemic carbohydrates.
