Slim Fast Recall

Slim Fast Recall is concerning when you consider that all products that are in cans and cartons of the ready-to-drink Slim Fast products, About 10 million products are affected, “regardless of flavor, best by date, lot code or UPC number.

Slim Fast is a popular diet drink. But the concern is that they may be contaminated with bacteria that can cause moderate food poisoning. But, for those of you that have had food poisoning, there is no such thing as moderate food poisoning…there is the fact that you do not die…even though in the grips of food poisoning, you might want to.

Unilever, the company that makes Slim Fast, stated that the recall was prompted by “quality testing” that turned up Bacillus cereus, a toxin that causes nausea and diarrhea. In most cases, Bacillus cereus is not life threatening.

The FDA stated that the inspection that uncovered the B. cereus was conducted after several consumers complained to the company.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers B. cereus a mild disease, that is usually self limiting and not severe.

The Slim Fast Recall involves only liquid products in cans and boxes but not powdered shakes or diet bars, according to an Unilever spokeswoman.

I say…how can you believe them, when they make a diet product whose main ingredients are made primarily with milk proteins and sugar water. Get with the program Baby Boomers, those are NOT diet products! Unilever are big fat lairs fleecing the public. Selling diet products when they are not!

Unilever urges consumers with recalled products “to discard them immediately and contact the company at 1-800-896-9479 for a full refund.”

Unilever goes on to state that (if you can believe them), “The company is in the process of identifying and correcting the production issue,” the Slim Fast Recall notice read, “and will resume production and shipment of the product when the issue has been addressed and corrected.”

Slim Fast Recall is in effect and should be pulled to the blanket for selling a product that states that it is a diet product when it is NOT.

I’ve noticed a metallic taste in pretty much every Slim Fast can I’ve ever had, but i would never expected any biological issues

  2. I can’t stand any of the shake products because I do not and have never drank milk.
