3 Mile Island Nuclear Plant Leak Investigated by authorities at Pennsylvania’s Three Mile Island nuclear plant, after 150 workers were sent home after a weekend radiation leak.
3 Mile Island Nuclear Plant Leak Investigated according to Exelon Nuclear, an airborne radiological contamination alarm sounded about 4 p.m. Saturday, November 21st, 2009, in the Unit 1 containment building, near Middletown, Pennsylvania.
This is the same unit that had been shut down since October 26th, 2008 for a “supposed” refueling, maintenance and steam generator replacement.
Three Mile Island had the worst U.S. nuclear accident. It has a partial meltdown in 1979 that resulted in the plant’s second reactor being shut down for ever and ever.
