Baby Boomers, The Meatless Monday Diet will help your health and earths fragile ecosystem. Now, I know that this sounds like some thing I would hatch up, but I didn’t. In fact it has been around for a long time.

According to MeatlessMonday.com, Americans have been reducing their consumption of staples such as gasoline, sugar, bread and meat since World War I and World War II.

Sir Paul McCartney, or as those of us across the pond know him, Paul McCartney of The Beatles, supports Meatless Monday.

If you remember, I have been asking you not to buy gas on Mondays for over a year. I wonder how many of you are still doing so?

With thousands of acres of the Amazon’s Rain Forest being destroyed day, more than a quarter of the coral reefs destroyed in the last decade, how can one individuals effort affect global issues? One person or Baby Boomer at a time can and will make a difference. Think GREEN, Baby Boomers…

John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, which is ranked number one in he nation for protecting and saving millions of lives, urges every one to cut meat out of their diet one day a week, so why not make it a Meatless Monday Diet? Start your week of with a positive life change.

Come on Baby Boomers, we all know that diets high in saturated fat, found mainly in meat and high fat dairy products, increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke, and may increase the risk of certain types of cancer.

These are so-called “lifestyle diseases,” deaths are often preventable by making changes in diet or activity. The Meatless Monday Diet can help you kick start a better lifestyle change and it is easy.
Besides reducing the risk of chronic, preventable conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, lupus and obesity…going Meatless Monday helps counteract the inefficient mass production of meat by conserving water and cutting down greenhouse gas emissions.

Baby Boomers for just one day a week…on Monday…follow vegetarian, vegan and even a raw food diet for ethical, health and environmental reasons. I know that there has to be some deep hearted, die-hard 60′s radicals out there still, ready to pitch in and go meatless  on Monday. Or some, who just want to live longer and healthier.
