Typhoon Mirinae Kills 14 In The Philippines. There are also four people reported missing in the Philippines, only a day after Typhoon Mirinae ripped through the heart of the country, according to the National Disaster Coordinating Council.
In a little over 30 days, Mirinae was the fourth typhoon to affect the archipelago of more than 7,000 islands. Just last week, Typhoon, Lupit, narrowly missed making landfall, but brought more rain to the already drenched Philippines.
Typhoon Mirinae is quickly dissipated after October 31st, 2009 landfall. It has become a tropical storm and is forecast to weaken further before hitting Vietnam on Monday, November 2nd, 2009.

The hardest areas hit with the storms are the Southern Luzon and Bicol regions. Civil Defense administrator Glenn Rabonza states that more than 13,000 people were affected by the storm.
Typhoon Mirinae brought at least 85 millimeters (3.3 inches) of rain to Manila. The city of Daet, on the eastern coast, received 149 millimeters (5.8 inches) of rain, and Virac, which sits on an island that juts into the Pacific, received 72 millimeters (2.8 inches) of rain.
The first of the four typhoons to threaten the Philippines happened in late September of 2009, when Ketsana drenched the island nation with its heaviest rainfall in 40 years. Eighty percent of Manila was flooded and more than 420 people died horrible deaths with Ketsnan.
Flooding from Ketsana has lasted well into October, with tens of thousands of people are still in evacuation centers, according to the disaster coordinating council.
Typhoon Pharma made landfall on October 3 in a rural region of fishermen and farmers in Luzon, the largest of the Philippine islands. It destroyed 55,000 homes and business and killed more than 430 people.
