6 Women Found Raped Dead and Strangled In Cleveland Ohio in a home owned by Anthony Sowell, 50. Luckily, the seventh victim was able to tell police about her sexual assault. She was the lucky one, who lived to tell her story.
Six women were found dead at a Cleveland, Ohio, Anthony Sowell home. The bodies came back that they had been strangled and raped. Their decomposing bodies were there for weeks, months and maybe even years.
Anthony Sowell, 50, is a convicted rapist. The bodies were found when authorities tried to serve an arrest and search warrant for him related to a sexual assault investigation.
Five female victim bodies were found inside the home, and the sixth female body was discovered outside the home. The bodies have not yet been been identified, but they all does of homicidal violence…by strangulation,” stated Coroner, Frank Miller III.
Someone called authorities and told them where Sowellwas and the authorities arrested him Saturday afternoon, October of 2009, as he walked on a street near the 4th District Police Headquarters.
6 Women Found Raped Dead and Strangled In Cleveland Ohio and all because around a month ago, a brave woman came forward and accused Sowell of rape and felonious assault and that set the whole ball rolling and uncovered Sowell’s horrible deeds.
“Once we were able to get the cooperation of the victim, we secured an arrest warrant for Mr. Sowell and subsequently a search warrant for his premises,” authorities stated.
Officers serving the warrants Thursday, October 29th, 2009, discovered two badly decomposed bodies on the third floor of the house and after searching for more bodies a subsequent search revealed what appeared to be a freshly dug grave under the stairs in the basement.
Then on Friday, authorities returned to the house, and found a third body. Thinking that there might be even more bodies, a further search of both the house and property found two more bodies in a crawl space, and a sixth body was found in a shallow grave, that was outside the home.
Anthony Sowell used five different burial methods on his victims, and the bodies were in varying states of decomposition. That made it difficult to determine the ages of the victims and hard to tell how long they had been in their makeshift graves.
“It’s really very difficult to tell,” Miller stated. “It’s been some time, I would say probably at least weeks, if not months or years.”
Anthony Sowell makes his living as a scrapper. That means that he finds and picks up scrap metal and takes it to junkyards to make a few pennies. They called them scrap men when I was a kid.
Anthony Sowell, is a repeat offender. He was convicted for a 1989 rape for which he was imprisoned from 1990 to 2005. This is what is wrong with the system that we have. His crimes have only escalated. He is a violent offender who has taken 6 women lives and perhaps more…who can be sure when dealing with such an ill animal.
