Mayumi Heene Blows Whistle on Ballon Boy Hoax, that’s right Baby boomers, Mayumi Henne has spilled the beans. The wife of a Colorado father at the center of the “balloon boy hoax”, told authorities that the giant helium balloon was specifically created as a hoax to draw media attention to the Henne family.

That means that the Heene family, including 6 year old Falcon Heene were all in on the Balloon Boy Hoax.

Mayumi Heene told the authorities, that she and her husband, Richard Heene, knew that their son Falcon, age 6, was hiding at their Fort Collins home the entire time, even as police and military scrambled to search for the boy.

Mayumi Heene spilled the beans, October 17th, 2009, just two days after the balloon was released back to the Heene’s.

The Balloon Hoax

The Heenes started with the Heene’s telling authorities that they believed their child, Falcon, had flown away on the balloon, and when the balloon landed without him, they then expressed concern that he may have fallen out of the device, while it was in the air.

The Henne’s developed the hoax about two weeks before the incident and told their three children to lie to authorities as well as the media regarding the balloon boy hoax.

What Were They Thinking

Their motive was to make the Heene family more marketable for future media interests.

Now What Happens

Both Richard Heene and Mayumi Heene are each facing a number of local charges, including conspiracy, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and attempting to influence a public servant.

I do believe they have ticked off the authorities and the local citizens.

But, their attorneys have stated that the authorities are over reaching and that the family deserves the presumption of innocence.

Don’t attorneys just tickle your funny bones? Is there another occupation where you are allowed to lie as much as an attorney does?

The Henne’s had better look out, because The Federal Aviation Administration is also investigating the incident.

Richard Heene and Mayumi Heene met in a Hollywood acting school and it looks like they are pursuing fame for their family in the world of reality TV.

The Heene’s did do a “Wife Swap” episode, but the programing on Lifetime, is pulling the show in light of what happened. If that is not enough, Richard Heene also chases storms, it is a family outing and they take videos.

Prior to the Iraq war some people sent false information to the news media.

These materials included crude forgeries about Iraq buying Yellowcake, false info about aluminum tubes for nuclear centerfuges, and unsubstantiated rumors of mobile biolabs presented as fact.

The people who committed these apparent hoaxes on the press and have not ever been called to task.

Why no investigation into who forged the yellowcake memos?

I would like to see the same standard applied to the Iraq war ‘hoaxers’.

Sounds like the husband is a narcissist with grandiose ideas. I feel sorry for the family for having to live with this jerk.

This whole thing is sickening and I hope all these people go to jail I mean the adults and the children need to go to a home that loves them and treats them as though they are children and not the adults in the house as they are or they will have big problems in the furure.
