Eugene Bailey Not Involved In Derrion Albert’s Death and first degree murder charges were dropped against one of four teens charged in connection to the beating death of a high school honor student, in Chicago, IL.

Eugene Bailey, 18, is expected to be released from custody. Bailey’s family has maintained he was innocent in the September 24, 2009 attack, that killed Derrion Albert, age 16.

“Ain’t none of these kids on this strip my children. None of them look like Eugene,” stated Ava Greyer, Eugene Bailey’s mother, on September 30th, 2009, while looking at the pictures published in the newspaper taken from a cell phone video and in fact, Eugene was never at the fight.

Eugene Bailey Not Involved In Derrion Albert’s Death and the state’s attorneys office released a written response was: “While the charge against Bailey was brought in good faith based on witness accounts and identifications, additional information has developed during the ongoing investigation that warranted dismissal of the murder charge against Bailey at this time.”

“He was down the street with his brother, at his brother’s house, at the time of the beating of Derrion. Also, that’s his buddy,” stated Eugene’s mother, Greyer.

Three other teens, Silvonus Shannon, Eric Carson and Eugene Riley, remain in police custody and are still facing murder charges in the brutal and senseless attack on Derrion Albert and were due in court today, Monday, October 19th, 2009.

The attack cell phone video shows Albert being beaten with boards and kicked while lying on a sidewalk.

Derrion Albert was only 16 years old and only a sophomore at Christian Fenger Academy High School.
