Breast Cancer Medication

Breast Cancer Medication is not cure all. In fact, treatment of breast cancer can create more problems than breast cancer.
Those problems from the treatment of breast cancer, are anything from side effects can include hot flashes, vaginal dryness, muscle and body aches, mild nausea, diarrhea or constipation, weakness, and fatigue.
Increased risk of osteoporosis after 5 years of treatment for women or men who started out with weak bones or osteopenia.
One of the drugs they suggest is tamoxifen, and you will need a pelvic exam every year, if given this drug. If you have any vaginal bleeding, other than normal menstrual bleeding, tell your doctor as soon as possible. This can be a sign of uterine pre-cancer.
Neither chemotherapy nor hormone therapy is likely to cure breast cancer that has spread to another area of the body or that has metastasized, but either therapy can reduce symptoms and may prolong life.
Breast Cancer Medication Before Surgery For Breast Cancer
In some cases, treatment of breast cancer by chemotherapy or hormone therapy is used before surgery to shrink the breast cancer. This is called neoadjuvant therapy. It MIGHT save your breast if the cancer is large.
Talk with your doctor about the risks and benefits of neoadjuvant therapy and whether it is an option for you.
Breast Cancer Medication After Surgery For Breast Cancer
This depends on a variety of things, such as tumor size, grade, and lymph node involvement, there are several treatment options available. Hormone therapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of the two therapies may be used after surgery to try to destroy any cancer cells that may be left in your body.
This is called adjuvant therapy, and it is used to lower the chances that your breast cancer will come back. Talk with your doctor about the risks and benefits of each type of treatment.
Your personal preferences and considerations are important when choosing a treatment of breast cancer that is right for you.
Men is also at risk for breast cancer. it just is not as prevalent as with woman.
Do not forget that you body has the power to heal it’s self. So, eat right, exercise, get plenty of rest and never think negative.
What ever Breast Cancer Medication you decide to choose, make sure that it is an informed decision. Don’t just sit there and nod your head. It is your health and your decision.
