1045 Animals Were Seized From Houston Home in what Houston SPCA officials describe as one of the biggest animal seizures in the nation’s history, on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009.
Houston SPCA received an anonymous tip about animals in need of medical care and when they got to a small house in Houston, they were stunned to find hundreds of chickens, ducks, parrots, gerbils, iguanas, turtles, snakes, a pony, a goat, and more in the animal collection.
1045 Animals Were Seized From Houston Home and SPCA chief investigator Charles Jantzen stated, “Very few of the animals had the basic staples of life…food, water and shelter and some of the animals were dead.
So, what was this Houston man doing with 1045 animals? Getting ready for the next Ark? No, the owner told investigators he was raising the animals to be sold at flea market and he claims that they were not neglected.
1045 Animals Were Seized From Houston Home and the animals were immediately taken into SPCA’s custody. There will be a court hearing in ten days to decide who will get final ownership of the miss treated animals.
