France Has Banned Kissing-To Stop The Swine Flu-H1N1, to stop the Swine Flu-H1N1 in it’s tracks.
As you know, in France, hands get shaken, hands get kissed and checks get kissed. The light cheek-to-cheek quick kiss is known as “la bise,” and it is a social greeting, even with the very young.

In schools, teachers are telling students to forgo “la bise”, and instead capture their displays of affection in heart shaped greetings to slip into “bise boxes.” A lot like what we, here in America, do on Valentines Day.
Many say that this is going to be a hard sell to the nation as a whole but especially to the older students.
Some French are finding that masks do the trick to discourage kissing.
It is estimated that more than a 250,000 cases of swine flu have been confirmed from all around the world. There have been over 2,800 deaths. These accounts are according to the World Health Organization or WHO (not the rock band).
France has recorded three deaths. But the government does not want to take any chances.
The French Health Ministry have set up a telephone bank and they are received thousands of calls daily from people across the country asking about symptoms of H1N1 and recommendations about physical contact.
One company in France has issued a whole array of guidelines to combat the spread of H1N1. The best one for men is that is encouraging its employees to omit the neck ties because it is an article of clothing that is least frequently washed.
