Lupus-How the Weather Affects Lupus…You won’t need a weather vane when you have Lupus. You won’t need a weather report of a sophisticated radar to tell you that a thunder storm or a cold front is on it’s way.
Lupus being in the Arthritis family is an autoimmune disease.
An autoimmune disease that tells it’s immune system to attack it’s own body, instead of foreign invaders.
Those of us who have Lupus will be seen wearing long sleeves, wide brim hats and even gloves outside when it is sunny and bright.
The suns ultra violet rays (tanning beds too) can trigger painful inflammation of the skin, joints, tissues around the heart, kidneys and lungs (just to name a few).
Lupus-How the Weather Affects Lupus can be extreme or very mild. But, extreme temperature swings can also cause poor circulation and pain in the fingers, toes and extremities.
Two cold or two hot are too temperatures that can trigger a Lupus reaction.
My Lupus has caused Raynaud’s Disease. Several related conditions that predispose persons to secondary Raynaud’s disease include scleroderma, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis and polymyositis.
Women as with Lupus are more susceptible to get Raynauds Disease.
