Susan Atkins Parole Hearing

Susan atkins Susan Atkins Parole Hearing

Manson Murder Family Member Susan Atkins has another parole hearing coming up. Her next parole hearing is scheduled for September 2, 2009.

She is wanting to be released because she is terminally ill from brain cancer.

Atkins is reportedly now paralyzed over 85% of her body, unable to sit up or be transferred to a wheelchair, according to her website maintained by her husband.

Former Charles Manson disciple and convicted murderer Susan Atkins tried to sue Gov. Gray Davis, in June of 2003. Contending his policy opposing parole for nearly all murderers has made her a political prisoner.

What made her a prisoner is that she murdered people. Her political views are not the issue. She tried to sue the California governor for $1 million.

This shows that she is reformed?

Perhaps some of you say that I am cold and she should be released. But, when I think of Susan Atkins I think of Sharon Tate and her unborn baby and the other people that she murdered in two days.

Last year, doctors diagnosed Susan Atkins with terminal cancer, prompting a failed bid by the Charles Manson follower and convicted murderer to receive a “compassionate release” from state prison.

But Atkins, who gained infamy for her role in the 1969 slayings of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and others in a bloody two night rampage in Los Angeles, may get one last chance to convince state parole officials she should no longer be kept behind bars.

Officials with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation stated Thursday, that they have scheduled a September 2nd, 2009, parole hearing for Susan Atkins in Los Angeles.

Atkins has served over 40 years in prison, longer than any other female, officials said. Before last year’s bid, she was most recently considered for, and denied, parole in June of 2009.

Atkins was diagnosed with brain cancer in early 2008. With one leg amputated and the other paralyzed, she has only six months to live, doctors then stated. Atkins petitioned for so called compassionate release, igniting a debate about when mercy is appropriate.

Do the math…she is still alive and it has been a year and a half.

Now for those of you who are concerned for her…remember that she was scheduled for the death penalty. Remember that she has lived 40 years longer than any of her victims. One of which was an unborn baby.

Those backing her release argued unsuccessfully that the cost of keeping Atkins in prison, which by now could be well over a million dollars, should have favored her release because it would save the state substantial amounts of money.

Manson prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi, said it was a question of mercy. He asks “just because Susan Atkins showed no mercy to her victims, we therefore are duty bound to follow her inhumanity and show no mercy to her.”

Here Is Some of What Happened By Susan Adkins

Atkins told the grand jury that she stabbed Frykowski in the legs and that she held Tate down while Watson stabbed her. She also testified that Tate had pleaded for her life and that of her unborn child, to which Atkins replied, “Woman, I have no mercy for you.”

During the sentencing phase of the trial, Atkins testified that she stabbed Tate. She candidly stated that she had stabbed Tate because she was “sick of listening to her, pleading and begging, begging and pleading”

Forensic evidence indicated that the murders were brutal. Just prior to leaving the residence, Atkins wrote “Pig” on the front door in Sharon Tate’s blood.

Or, if that doesn’t get to your sense of humanity…how about…

Atkins told fellow inmate and Beverly Hills matchmaker Virginia Graham that the 26-year-old actress begged for her life and the life of her unborn child.

“She told me this thing with great glee,” said Graham who shared a dorm room with Atkins at the Sybil Brand Institute for Women in the fall of 1969. After killing Tate, prosecutors said Atkins tasted the actress’ blood and used it to scrawl “PIG” on her front door. On that dreadful night, the Manson Family also killed Abigail Ann Folger, Voytek Frykowski, Steven R. Parent, and Jay Sebring.

SharonTate.net is Sharon Tates’ official web page, run by her sister Debra. Ask her if she thinks Susan Atkins should be humanly released.

thumbsdown Susan Atkins Parole Hearing

Susan Atkins Parole Hearing is coming and I still say, that she has loved and lived longer than any of her victims and more humanly treated than she treated any of her victims. I give her a BIG thumbs down on ever being released.

This woman should remain in jail until the day she dies because what she did there is nothing for her out here in the free world NOTHING.

She committed a horrible crime and now she is paying in a way that all killers should pay with her life and in pain.

Remember, it’s our right as citizens to protest her release. If you want to write, following are two addresses (I sent letters to both). Also, below is her #, which is very important to include in your letter. This is a unique case – there is far more involved here than simply determining whether an inmate is “no longer a threat” to society. And SHAME on any media, newscasters, etc. for even remotely insinuating that Atkins’ release would be a good idea because it would save the taxpayers’ money. Unspeakable; what a horrific slap in the face to the victims’ loved ones. Besides, all of my CA contacts say they are delighted to have their tax dollars spent keeping any and all Manson family members in jail.
