Cavaliers Sign Jamario Moon
Cavaliers Sign Jamario Moon, according to an NBA source. What a surprise by tendering an offer sheet to Miami Heat restricted free agent Jamario Moon. The Heat would have seven days to match starting Monday, July 20th, 2009…when they are expected to receive the paperwork.
The Cavaliers have about $3.2 million left of their mid-level exception that they can use in whole or part or their full $2 million bi-annual exception to sign Moon.
Cavaliers Sign Jamario Moon and the offer sheets must be at least two years in length, but both years do not have to be guaranteed.
Jamario Moon, 29, is 6 foot 8, who is a late bloomer that broke into the NBA with the Toronto Raptors last season and was traded off to the Heat in the winter of 2008.
He averaged 7.8 points and 5.4 rebounds over the last two seasons.
He is able to play more at small forward than shooting guard, where the Cavs looked settled after signing Anthony Parker last week, and he is known as a solid defensive player.
Cavaliers Sign Jamario Moon and it looks like a good move for both the Cavaliers and Moon.
