Pamela Laverne Long Questioned In Florida Billings Murders

Pamela Laverne Long Questioned In Florida Billings Murders. Even though it took authorities a while to located a woman they want to question in connection with the slaying of a couple who adopted 12 special needs children.
Pamela Long, also known as Pamela Wiggins and by other names, is a “person of interest” in the Florida Billing murder case.
Pamela Laverne Long was found in Orange Beach, Alabama and is being “escorted” back to Escambia County, Florida.
Long is a Florida Realtor and had rented property to one of the suspects already arrested in the case, one Leonard Patrick Gonzalez Jr., according to Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan, who also described Pamela Laverne Long as a “person of interest.”
“We believe Miss Long has significant and substantial information we need to conclude this case,” Morgan stated. In other words, Baby Boomers, her goose is cooked. Florida has a death penalty.
Pamela Laverne Long used numerous aliases:
Pamela Long Wiggins
Pamela Elle Malden
Pamela Long Link
Pamela Laverne Long Coco
But these names might just be bad choices in men…these aliases may simply be the result of numerous marriages.
The authorities also stated that a second “person of interest” was also being sought for questioning, but they did not elaborate.
Pamela Pamela Laverne Long Questioned In Florida Billings Murders and the authorities are playing their cards close to the chest on this horrific murder case.
Byrd and Melanie Billings were shot and murdered July 9th, 2009, in their Beulah, Florida, home near the Alabama state line. Law enforcement officials stated that a safe and other items were missing from the house and have cited robbery as a motive.
Seven men, one of them a 16 year old, are already in custody and will face murder charges in the killings of the Billings. Morgan stated that the seven suspects are the ones who actually entered the Billings home.
The sheriff’s news conference came shortly after the Drug Enforcement Administration confirmed it is assisting in the probe of the murders.
“Escambia County sheriff’s department did call for our assistance this week,” David Melenkevitz, spokesman for the DEA in Miami, Florida, stated.
Morgan wouldn’t confirm the DEA’s involvement during the briefing to reporters.
The Billings were a wonderful couple. At one time, they had 13 adopted children, many with special needs. Three of those children have passed away. The couple also had four biological children of their own, two each from previous marriages, but no biological children together.
The worst part of this story is that nine of the couple’s children were home at the time of the robbery-murder. Morgan stated that police believe three of them saw the intruders. One managed to flee the home and seek help at a neighbor’s house.
Authorities have said the robbery-murder was well rehearsed and that at least two of the suspects had military training. Morgan stated that the men were on the Billings’ property for 10 minutes and were in and out of the house in four.
But the sheriff stated Wednesday, July 15th, 2009, that there was a “gaping hole” in what was otherwise a well-executed crime: “Why was the security system not disabled?”
“The execution was basically flawless,” and authorities believe the suspects “entered the compound with the belief that they were not under surveillance,” Morgan continued.
“We’re now looking at anyone who may have had an involvement with the security system,” he stated. “We believe that there is an additional person, and that was their task and they failed.”
BBAC condolences go out to the family, children and friends of Byrd and Melanie Billings.
