Bernie Madoff Transferred to Federal Prison, in Butner, N.C. on Tuesday, July 14th, 2009, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

“Mr. Madoff is at our facility in Butner,” stated Felicia Ponce, spokeswoman for the bureau. She would not comment if Madoff will serve his 150-year prison term at Butner.

Bernie Madoff Transferred to Federal Prison, where Madoff, is known as federal prisoner no. 61727-054, was transferred from a medium security prison in Atlanta, according to the bureau.

FCI Butner is located north of Durham, Raleigh and Chapel Hill. It has two medium-security prisons, a low-security prison and a medical center among its facilities. Quite the facility, Butner holds almost 4,900 inmates and now one more, Bernie Madoff.

I don’t think that Bernie Madoff got what he truly deserved for stealing from people. He probably has TV and internet in his cell and can have congical visits.
