Amanda Rodrigues Gatti Photos and more information are starting to trickle in from Brazil which is where Arturo Gatti was bludgeoned in the head and then strangled.
Amanda Rodrigues Gatti, 23 years old, was taken into custody by Porto de Galihnas police because she had several contradictions during her interrogation.
Pernambuco authorities are still investigating the killing of Arturo Gatti, 37, a World Champion retired boxer.
Gatti was found dead in Brazil, in a hotel named Dorisol. The hotel is located on Porto de Galinhas beach (municipality of Ipojuca, Pernambuco).
Gatti and his wife, Amanda Rodrigues Gatti were on a second honeymoon with their 10 month old son.
But according to former boxing champion, Acelino Freitas, who was a close friend of Arturo Gatti…he claims that Arturo Gatti and his wife Amanda Rodrigues Gatti were having problems and were about to split up.

Authorities in Brazil are somewhat confused by Amanda Rodrigues Gatti’s changing story. It seems that not only was Arturo Gatti struck in the back of the head, but he was also strangled.
Recovered was a bloody purse strap, which one investigator believes was used to strangle the unconscious fighter.
Amanda Rodrigues Gatti was taken into custody on Sunday, July 12th, 2009 by authorities because of contradictions and inconsistencies in her statements when she was interviewed by authorities.
According to a spokeswoman for the Pernambuco state civil police, Gatti was strangled with the strap of a purse.
A spokeswoman for the Pernambuco authorities stated that Arturo Gatti was apparently strangled with the strap of a purse, which was found with blood stains at the scene and the Canadian also had a head injury.
Could the former boxing champ, who was thought to have drunk at the time, have been hit in the back of the head while his back was turned, asleep or even passed out? Was he hit with an object and then strangled to death? Did the wife do this horrible deed?
Milena Saraiva, a spokesperson for the authorities in Brazil stated that they are preparing to present a formal accusation against Amanda Rodrigues Gatti.
According to published reports, authorities stated that Amanda Rodrigues Gotti, a Brazilian, could not explain how she spent nearly 10 hours in the room without noticing that Gatti was dead.
