Couple With 16 Kids Killed In Home Invasion and the worst part…is that the children were home when it happened.
The couple was found shot Thursday night, July 9th, 2009 in their Beulah home, about 17 miles north west of Pensacola. According to Escambia County Police spokesman Sgt. Ted Roy, “One of the parents was shot in the head, he said.

Byrd and Melanie Billings by Jeff Martin, director of the District Medical Examiner’s Office. Autopsies have not been completed. The children were also the victims, as they have lost their parents.
The Billings were wonderful people who had sixteen children. Twelve of them are adopted, some of whom have special needs or were hard to place children.
Couple With 16 Kids Killed In Home Invasion. Nancy Markham, a relative of the family, told CNN affiliate WEAR-TV that her son was inside the Billings’ home when the shootings happened.
“He said that Bud and Melanie had, both of them had been murdered,” Markham said.
Couple With 16 Kids Killed In Home Invasion and emergency personnel and police went to the home Thursday night after receiving a call just before 8 p.m. about shots being fired, Roy stated. An employee of the couple found their bodies, he stated.
When authorities arrived they discovered the children also in the house at the time of the home invasion. The children, who ranged in age from infant to about 11 years old, were unharmed.
Authorities are looking for three males in a red van in connection with the slayings, any one with information, please call the authorities.
