MEAT RECALL:From Valley Meats LLC of Coal Valley Illinois, which is an Illinois meat producer,a recalled nearly 96,000 pounds of potentially contaminated beef according to the federal government on Thursday, May 21st. 2009.

MEAT RECALL:From Valley Meats LLC of Coal Valley Illinois and the Ohio Department of Health first reported an outbreak of illness linked to the potentially deadly bacterium E. coli 0157:H7 to federal authorities on May 13th, 2009. Clusters of illnesses have also been reported in Pennsylvania and Illinois.
Deadly bacterium E. coli 0157:H7 can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and kidney failure. Those most vulnerable include the very young, the aged and people with weak immune systems, such as Lupus, according to USDA’s Food Safety Inspection Service.
For a list of the recalled products which were produced on March 10th, 2009, and packaged under a variety of labels, is posted at www.fsis.usda.gov.
Not being a meat eater, I do not have to worry about this situation. But, for the rest of our Baby Boomer readers, buyer beware.

ostrich boots or shoes, or newer home? Some of the boomers have not had health insurance on the radar screen. If not stricken early with an injury or costly illness you are very aware of the need for health insurance.
At 18 I was working full time for minimum pay. An isurance visited me on the job, and I was a newly wed of 2 months. Well I bought and kept that plan until I could go with a group plan 2 years later.
So that was my first priorty. Today, if any boomers or younger don’t have plan in their wallet for any form of health insurance then get employed where you can. Group plans also most pre-existing illnesses. So “what is in your wallet.Don’t wait on government rescue, ok!! ALLLGOOD OF TEXAS
