Maryland Woman Leaves New Born In Waste Tank of a Port-a-Potty and faces charges of child abuse after authorities state that she gave birth in a portable toilet and dropped the newborn into the waste tank.
After having the baby in the portable toilet in Long Wharf Park in Cambridge, Candy Vigneri, 44, got a cigarette from a construction worker and sat at a picnic table, police Lt. Wayne Bromwell stated.
You read that right, Baby Boomers, she sat down and had a cigarette. Didn’t get her baby…but casually sat down and had a cigarette.
As she sat, a man approached the toilet but Vigneri warned him, “Don’t go in there, I just had a baby there.”
The man immediately called 911. Vigneri returned to the toilet and retrieved the newborn from the foul human waste liquid in the pot-a-potty.
Authorities state that the baby was unresponsive and covered with a blue antibacterial chemical agent when emergency responders reached the scene.
Woman Leaves New Born In Waste Tank of a Port-a-Potty and Vigneri told officers that she didn’t know she was pregnant.
She was arrested Wednesday, July 2nd, 2009, with charges of child abuse and reckless endangerment and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
I hope that they are holding Candy Vigneri in a port-a-potty, but I doubt it.
The poor little new born baby is in stable condition at Easton Memorial Hospital and Dorchester County social services will take control of the newborn after she is released from the hospital.
