Mike Rupp has signed with the Stanley Cup champions and I bet that the ice is starting to melt from the excitement.
The physical forward, Mike Rupp Signs $165 Million Contract With Pittsburgh Penguins in a two year contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday, July 1st, 2009.
His agent, Allan Walsh, talked to the NJ Devils Wednesday, but nothing came of it. The Penguins pursued Rupp hard and heavy and won.
“They came at me pretty good today,” Rupp stated of the Penguins. “I was impressed by that. I feel good about the situation. They really made me want to be a part of things there.”
Mike Rupp Signs $165 Million Contract With Pittsburgh Penguins and he is worth every dollar of it according to the Pens. Rupp is 6-5, 240 pounds, scored nine points (three goals, six assists) in 72 games for the Devils last season. He had 136 penalty minutes.
