Earthquake In Delaware-NJ and PA Feel Tremors as the The National Earthquake Center stated that a small earthquake felt Wednesday, July 1st, 2009 in the Wilmington, Del. area had its epicenter in southern New Jersey.

The NEC stated that the earthquake measured 2.8 on the Richter scale , up from an earlier estimate of 2.7. That’s big enough to feel, but thankfully, too small to cause much damage.

Well, it would have scared this Southern Baby Boomer…Californian Baby Boomers wouldn’t have even missed a step.

The epicenter was near Mannington Township, which is near the Delaware River.

Earthquake In Delaware-NJ and PA Feel Tremors and Salem County deputy administrator Robin Weinstein stated that he felt shaking in his emergency management office soon after the quake began at 9:46 a.m. EST. No injuries or damage have been reported.

A spokesman for PSE&G Nuclear, which operates three nuclear power plants in Salem County, stated that the quake was too minor to register on the plant’s monitoring devices. Whew…that is a BIG relief.

Animals feel Earthquakes too.
