Police Arrest Teenager-Tyler Weinman Age 18-In South Florida Cat Killings

Police Arrest Teenager-Tyler Weinman Age 18-In South Florida Cat Killings. Police have arrested a teenager that they say is responsible for a string of cat killings in South Florida.

Tyler Weinman age 18, lives in the area and is now in police custody, police stated. He is charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty, four counts of burglary and 19 counts of improper disposing of animal bodies. There have been 33 reported cases of dead cats in the same area.

Weinman comes from a divorced home and his parents live in the area where the cats have been found horribly killed. His parents live within 2 miles of each other.

Right now, Weinman is only charged with 19 counts. With the investigation ongoing, there could be more cases piled against him.

“Our communities of Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay have been on edge for many weeks now because of the horrific and unspeakable slaughterings of many of their beloved feline pets. I sincerely hope that with his arrest, the residents will feel relieved and their cats will be safe once again. It is expected that the vicious crimes that have plagued these communities will not be repeated,” stated Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle.

“I commend the police officers of the Miami-Dade Police Department and senior trial counsel Michael Von Zamft who worked tirelessly and exhaustively with our law enforcement partners in order to put an end to these acts of cruelty. My heart goes out to the pet owners who have suffered such a great loss,” Fernandez Rundle continued.

Police Arrest Teenager-Tyler Weinman Age 18-In South Florida Cat Killings in an area where many Baby Boomers live. Apparently, there are more people involved in these heinous crimes. On Saturday, Miami-Dade authorities issued arrest warrants for more suspects…not just Weinman. They reported that they are working to make more arrests in South Florida Cat Killings.

Animal cruelty is just one of the steps into becoming a serial killer, in my book. This teenage and his buddies, need some mental help. I hope they recover and that all the people who lost their pets get new kitties or cats from the Human Society or an animal shelter near them. My heart goes out to you, those who lost their beloved pets. I love animals.

I have been following the News in reference to the sensless slaughter of many house cats in the south Florida area and I am extremely satisfied that the killer has been apprehended. I truly believe that now that he has been caught no other stray {or house} cats will be sacrificed. To the law enforcement officers who caught the culprit I say “Great Job”

This is so sad that there aren’t words to express this sad story.

Again this boy really didn’t have a good home even though the parents didn’t live far away from each other he was bounced back and forth having no real connection to either the father or the mother. Parents don’t get it how important it is to stay together and love each other as much as they can no matter what. He had so much hate inside of him that all could do is take out on innocent animals.

This child really needs a lot of help because he will get worse and worse as he grows older and they need to help him as much as possible. I will still never get how come neither the father or the mother noticed that this boy was slipping into this horrible situation and the hate he had inside of him so well hidden they didn’t even notice.

This boy had done things like this before I am certain but nobody noticed.

MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF THE INNOCENT ANIMALS AND THE PEOPLE CONNECTED TO THESE ANIMALS NOW AND FOR ALL TIME AS I AM SURE HE WILL!!!

MAY GOD HELP THIS CHILD BECAUSE HE REALLY NEEDS HIM AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE HE IS SO TROUBLED!!!

Let’s remember these are just Cats not humans and that everybody makes mistakes. He deserves forgivness just like everyone else.

  4. Joyce Stottlemyer says:

WHOEVER has committed the cat killings is a serial killer in the making. First cats, next kids. It’s time we take the mutilation and killing of animals more seriously and prosecute it more seriously. Slapping of fingers will not stop anyone who has this type of mentality. This crime is just the beginning for this CRIMINAL!

I know environment and history can create mentally ill people…however, working as a Registered Nurse with over 11 years based in psychiatry, I also know that people with ugly backgrounds can be wonderful people with ethics, values, morals and good judgement! Stop blaming the parent and let the CRIMINAL accept responsibility for his or her actions!

In this case, there seems to be no sense right, wrong, feeling, caring for others, caring for the property of others or life itself. Prosecute to the fullest extent of the law!

It is time to change the animal abuse laws in this country!
