U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Attacked By A White Supremacist-James von Brunn-One Security Guard, who was a lone gunman. He wounded a security guard at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009, before being wounded himself by return fire, of other security guards.
The security guard, Stephen Tyrone Johns, was taken to a local hospital and it is with great regret to report, that he has died from his injuries.
White Supremacist-James von Brunn, acted as a lone gunman.

Caught in the act, was James von Brunn, 88,a white supremacist from Maryland.
James von Brunn entered the museum at 12:50 p.m. with a rifle and immediately shot a museum security guard. Two other security guards returned fire, wounding the gunman, stated,” stated Chief Cathy Lanier of the District of Columbia’s Metropolitan Police Department.
Both the gunman and a security guard were taken to George Washington University Hospital. The the gunman is in “critical” condition and the wounded security guard is in “grave” condition, stated D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty.

The Holocaust Museum is near the Washington Monument and other popular attractions. At the time of the incident, the museum was full, with a “couple of thousand” people inside, said William Parsons, the chief of staff.
An FBI official stated that there was no prior warning or threat against the museum. In a later statement, the FBI said members of its National Capital Response Squad and Joint Terrorism Task Force are taking part in the investigation.
As a matter of routine, the area around the museum was checked by bomb sniffing dogs.
The museum was closed for the rest of the day, and the museum statement said: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the officer, his family and friends.”
