North Korea Are They The Next Enemy-Are Their Nuclear Tests A Threat

North Korea Are They The Next Enemy-Are Their Nuclear Tests A Threat? France will support new sanctions as well. Both Ambassador Jean-Maurice Ripert and Japanese Ambassador Yukio Takasu stated that “an additional element must be included” in a new resolution condemning the test.

Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin reported that the relatively short and closed door meeting at U.N. headquarters “showed that diplomats were unanimous in finding that the test was a ‘clear violation’ of previous resolutions calling for North Korea to avoid provocative steps such as nuclear weapons or missile tests.
The United Nations Security Council members condemned North Korea’s nuclear test Monday as a “clear violation” of U.N. resolutions, with some raising the prospect of new sanctions on Pyongyang as a result.
